December 2012

Christmas 20122012 has been a challenging but successful year—many amazing adoptions and healthy babies have proven
yet again that nurture trumps nature. And yet sometimes, despite our best attempts, we cannot change things.
Philisande — our little miracle, went to be with Jesus on 30th October 2012 . He would have turned two on the 20th
December, after overcoming seemingly insurmountable health problems, he passed away during surgery and has
left an incredible void at Shepherd ’ s Keep. Thank you for all your messages of encouragement. Our faith is that
God knows what lay ahead and in His wisdom took him home. We look forward to new miracles in 2013, new
challenges and new milestones as we work together with those who bless us with their time and professional
skills, giving back and making the effort to make a difference and investing in our babies.

We wish you a blessed Christmas and a New Year filled with a peace that passes all understanding, love and fulfilment. With love and thanks from everyone at Shepherd’s Keep

Thank you Donors! We ’ re in awe of our regular donors and those who have stood with us over the years and encouraged us with their giving spirits. NPO ’ s are struggling to survive and we ’ re incredibly grateful to you all! Thank you for allowing us the privilege of caring for our tiny charges by keeping in touch with our needs and supplying them as they arise. Dr Wessels has worked with Cheryl for 14 years, donating his time, wisdom and much dedication to each baby, Big Shoes Foundation who have visited our babies at Shepherd ’ s Keep, Melanie administers immunisations at Shepherd ’ s Keep at her cost, companies who have visited with wishlist purchases and donors, some of whom are our own faithful family members—we can ’ t mention everyone here by name but bless you all—you are all special to us. Very special thanks to Cheryl Rundle who has been fundraising in her spare time for us—we are deeply grateful Cheryl, thank you for all your hard work!

And Volunteers! What would we do without our volunteers—the extra capable hands of the ladies who give up hours to cuddle, play with and feed little ones—all for love! A special thank you to Anne who is with us nearly every day—bless you—it means so much to us!

And our loyal and faithful Staff! Our staff have to be thanked for their long hours of work,
their love and dedication to our babies when they have children of their own at home. Bless you all and thank you.
